Santa is going to be busy the next couple of weeks…but keep in mind he will need lifeguards to staff our Village Green Community Association pool this upcoming season. It’s never too early to get certified or to get your name on our candidate list.
If you are interested in being a lifeguard at our pool, please send Donnie a txt (757-768-9326) or email [email protected].
Lifeguards will need to be at least 15 yrs old and certified. Please check with the YMCA, Riverside Fitness Center, and/or the Red Cross for classes during the Winter/Spring.
Parents the big day is quickly approaching for Big Man himself to come join us for a very special breakfast. Please ensure you plan accordingly with a wrapped gift with your child’s name on it and drop it off at 657 VGP by Wednesday, December 8. This helps to keep things organized and full of holiday spirit. Please keep the presents to under $20 as well. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
As many of us would agree this is one in a million neighborhood. The one thing that sets it apart from so many others is the number of volunteers we have to help make things happen and keep everything going. We come to rely on those people day in and day out but there comes a time when the torch must be passed. Pete Fry has served as Treasurer for as long as anyone can remember but now, we need a new neighbor to step up and fulfil that role. It doesn’t take much time, or so I’m told, to be the Treasurer. He is even willing to share his experience and knowledge to help get the right person going.
We will also be looking for a new Clubhouse Rental Coordinator. Mrs. Mary Milton has faithfully served in this capacity but starting the new year will be stepping down. Her efforts have greatly served the Village Green with many celebrations, and she has our everlasting thanks.
If not for the volunteers in the neighborhood, then hardly anything would be possible to accomplish. If you would like to volunteer for either of these roles specifically or to volunteer in general, please let the board know. As always, they can be reached by email at [email protected] or you can reach out to me at [email protected].
This Saturday, Dec 5th, while decorating the park for the Holidays there will be an amazing thing going on too. Thanks to Cherly Lee for taking the lead on this years Cookie Exchange. She has set the rules for the event as follows to help keep things more COVID friendly.
The 2nd Annual Turkey Trot was a lot of fun for the neighborhood. The kids ran the fun run and the 5k in some cases! Here is the list of winners from each category!

Dec 11th Annual Breakfast with Santa!! Parents, please purchase your gift (under $20.00), WRAP it along with YOUR CHILDS NAME and bring it by 657 VGP by Dec 8th. This helps to keep the magic of Breakfast with Santa well organized. There will be breakfast and a craft as well!
Dec 18th Annual Christmas Lights. We want to acknowledge and cheer for the many great light displays that pop up in the Green. To be considered for the Competition you must be a VGCA member.
PLAYSET PROGRESS TOMORROW: We are going to try to make progress on the new playset with the planned good weather and federal holiday. To reach the next phase, we need some extra hands in the morning (around 9-930a) to move the two structures into the new location in the park. Once moved, we can continue with assembly as long as the weather let’s us tomorrow. Comment below or message Ryan Greene ([email protected]) if you are able to help with the move or the assembly.
The annual VGCA members meeting will be held on Tuesday, 9 November at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at the Pool house. This is an opportunity for the VGCA members to come and see what has happened over the last year and to vote in the Officers for 2022.
We’ll all be gathering to run and/or walk together this Thanksgiving, and there are plenty of seats at our table!
The kids 1 mile fun run will start at 10:30 and be a single lap around the Village Green loop. The Adult 5k will start at 11:00 with 2 trips around the neighborhood with the Minuteman/Crown Pointe Loop. A little run for the betterment of the community. Proceeds to go to fund improvements to the VGCA Park. Can’t wait to see you there!
