GENERAL RULES:

  • Use of the Village Green pool is limited to Village Green Community Association (VGCA) recreation members and their guests.
  • Pool users must show their membership badge/wrist band each and every visit to the lifeguards. A replacement badge/wrist band cost $2.00.
  • Proper swimming attire must be worn in the pool.
  • Lifeguards will enforce all pool rules. Any concerns should be directed to the guard on duty or [email protected].
  • Lifeguards are authorized to close the pool due to weather, mechanical or safety reasons. Any concerns should be directed to the guard on duty or [email protected].
  • The pool deck will be cleared in the event of thunder or lightning for at least 30 minutes.
  • Lifeguards are empowered to enact consequences for pool behavior ranging from redirection to timeout or dismissal from the pool.
  • Extreme or repeated infractions can be referred to the VGCA Board for consequences or revocation of membership.
  • No running around the pool area.
  • No horseplay or potentially hurtful behavior will be tolerated.
  • No guest may sit, stand or jump from the Lifeguard stands.
  • Abusive or profane language will not be tolerated; guests using such language will be told to leave.
  • Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the pool area during regular pool hours.
  • Pets are not allowed in pool area fence line during regular pool hours.
  • No gum or glass containers are allowed in the pool area.
  • Food and drinks are allowed on the pool deck, but may not be taken into the pool.
  • The clubhouse phone is for emergency use only. Only Lifeguards may approve use. No unauthorized person can be in the storage room or pump house.
  • It is permissible to voice concerns to an on-duty lifeguard; lifeguards are prohibited from engaging in prolonged conversation while in the chair.
  • The VG Association is not responsible for the personal property of members or guests which are left, lost, damaged or stolen on VG Association property.

GUESTS:

  • No resident of Village Green can be a guest at the pool. There are no exceptions.
  • All guests must be signed in at the pool by a pool member age 15 or over.
  • Guests must pay a daily fee of $5.00 per person. Adults (of guests) who do not swim do not have to pay the fee. Children under the age of three do not have to pay the fee.
  • Out of town guest staying in the house of a VGCA member are considered part of the household and do not pay a fee (suitcase clause).
  • When bringing a group of six or more guests, advance arrangements must be made with the lifeguards.

CHILDREN

  • Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by AND supervised by a parent/guardian at the pool. A babysitter or older sibling can supervise the child if there is a signed note from the parent on file.
  • Children age 10 or older must be able to pass a swim test (administered by the lifeguard) to come to the pool without a parent/guardian. This allowance can be revoked by the lifeguard if any behavior issues exist that require parental supervision. The swim test is to: swim the length of the pool and tread water for 1 minute.
  • The baby pool is only for children under 42 inches tall who cannot swim. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times while in the baby pool. There are no lifeguard services assigned to the baby pool.
  • Children wearing “floaties”, water wings, etc. must have an adult within an arm’s reach while they are in the water.
  • Grandparents may bring grandchildren to the pool as household members.

MISCELLANEOUS POOL RULES:

  • The last 15 minutes of every hour will be a rest period (aka break). The last 15 minutes of the pool day are also considered to be rest period for the purpose of cleaning up the pool deck.
  • Adults over the age of 18 can swim during break.
  • Floats, pool toys, etc. are allowed at the discretion of the lifeguard on duty.
  • No prolonged underwater swimming, breath holding, or games that involve holding breath will be allowed.
  • No playing or hanging on the ladders or safety ropes will be allowed.
  • Swimming is not permitted in the deep end when the diving board is in use.

DIVING BOARD:

  • Only one person on the diving board at a time.
  • Swimmers must dive or jump straight out from the board.
  • Divers must swim away from the immediate area of the board to allow the next person to use the board.
  • Only one bounce on the board will be allowed.
  • The diving board has a 250 pound weight limit.
  • No objects may be thrown from the diving board.
