February Service Project

February’s service project will be making Valentines for a local nursing home. This is a fun thing to do as a family to create homemade cards. These valentines will put a smile on the face of those in local nursing homes and war their hearts!!! We ask families to please to keep cards with puffy stickers or things that might fall of from them and give those to friends and family. All other home-made cards and be dropped off in the tote on the porch at 657 VGP.

Please only drop off paper valentines no candy or toys. Thank you!!

Santa’s VG drive-by on Dec 21 6pm

Santa and his elves will be driving by all the houses in Village Green on Tuesday, Dec 21 beginning at 6pm.  He is hoping to see many of you on your porches so he can wave as he drives by in a golf cart.

Breakfast with Santa

Parents the big day is quickly approaching for Big Man himself to come join us for a very special breakfast. Please ensure you plan accordingly with a wrapped gift with your child’s name on it and drop it off at 657 VGP by Wednesday, December 8. This helps to keep things organized and full of holiday spirit. Please keep the presents to under $20 as well. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Call for Volunteers for Treasurer and Rental Coordinator

As many of us would agree this is one in a million neighborhood. The one thing that sets it apart from so many others is the number of volunteers we have to help make things happen and keep everything going. We come to rely on those people day in and day out but there comes a time when the torch must be passed. Pete Fry has served as Treasurer for as long as anyone can remember but now, we need a new neighbor to step up and fulfil that role. It doesn’t take much time, or so I’m told, to be the Treasurer. He is even willing to share his experience and knowledge to help get the right person going.

We will also be looking for a new Clubhouse Rental Coordinator. Mrs. Mary Milton has faithfully served in this capacity but starting the new year will be stepping down. Her efforts have greatly served the Village Green with many celebrations, and she has our everlasting thanks.

If not for the volunteers in the neighborhood, then hardly anything would be possible to accomplish. If you would like to volunteer for either of these roles specifically or to volunteer in general, please let the board know. As always, they can be reached by email at [email protected] or you can reach out to me at [email protected].

Restored Merry Go Round

After a few weeks of hard work, lots of love, and some amazing talent the Merry-go-round has been returned to its rightful home. If anyone remembers from our last open board meeting, we had given up hope on restoring and fixing the iconic piece. For safety concerns the board voted to remove the piece and find something else to replace it with at a later time. Shortly there after an intrepid neighbor said that it was still worth saving and with some grit and determination set out to fix it. Many hands make light(er) work and was the case here as well. Following along the story via the (unofficial but very much useful) Facebook page we saw our neighbors come together to make sure that it was restored. It is with great pleasure we give a special Thank You to a few of those.

The Ward Family

Pete Fry

Evan Howard

Glen Woodall

I know there are others whose names are not listed here. Some of whom go about not wanting thanks or praise for what they do. We still would like to thank them for their hard work and dedication to helping keep the Village Green such a wonderful place to live.

Thank You
