The pool will OPEN Friday, June 14th

We were not scheduled to be open on June 14th since it was a school day. But since NNPS shortened the school year by a day and our pool management company agreed to cover the lifeguards, we are excited to announce we will be open on June 14th.

NOTE: There will be a Summer Pool Party (6-10pm) on June 14 being hosted by VGCA and is for all residents. Please RSVP by June 11th by going to https://vgnn.org/rsvp

New location for submitting VGNN online requests/forms

Admittedly, I had the Marquee and Rental forms not working well and they were hard to find. Also, some of the requests were going to our committee leads’ SPAM folder. Hopefully, this has been fixed and you can find the important online request/forms easier by clicking here on the website.

Thanks for being patient as we make the website better.

If you make a request and don’t get a timely response, feel free to reach out to Donnie directly ([email protected]).

Flowers needed for the front entrance

Rich Spivak is looking for flower donations for the front of the Village Green. He says we need flowers that will tolerate 50/50 sun and shade. Feel free to plant or to leave up near the front and Rich will plant.

Rich regular waters the plants and keeps the front entrance looking great. Thank you for your dedication to Village Green!

4th of July

In less than 4 weeks, July 4th will be here. The VGCA Board has been asking for volunteers but to date we don’t have enough. We also need donations.

If we are unable to receive any help, many of the traditional 4th of July festivities will not take place.

Amy Nuttall attempted to have a volunteer meeting on May 30th at the clubhouse and no one showed. We will need your help.

For those new to the neighborhood, it is a GREAT time and features a parade with a fire truck, kids riding their bikes in the parade, Uncle Sam throwing candy, a carnival, a cookout, the pool is open to all, raffles, and pool games.

Please lend a hand and reach out to Amy.

Please see this post on how to help out https://vgnn.org/july4th/

Memorial Day weekend at the pool

Crystal clear water!
New chairs, lounges, tables, and umbrella.
The new grill works great. Feel free to use it. Some of the kids were treated to hamburgers and hot dogs.

It might be time for a new sign…

“Drive like wildlife live here.”

Memorial Day

A message from VGCA Vice President, Amy Nuttall:

What a beautiful holiday weekend so far. The flags are waving, the pool is open, and the grills are fired up! But as we celebrate this long weekend, it is important to take some time to remember those who sacrificed all to make it possible. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the D-day invasion of Normandy where more than 200,000 allied troops lost their lives. The total number of American military lost in WWII was over 405,000. We also lost over 115,000 in WWI; over 58,000 in the Vietnam War; over 54,000 in the Korean War; and over 6,700 in the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. These numbers are incredible when you think about it. I recently read a quote from John Stuart Mill which helps put these sacrifices in perspective:

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.”

So as we enjoy this wonderful weekend, take a moment to pause and reflect on those who made the ultimate sacrifice in order to secure and maintain our freedom. Also, remember our other military men and women who served and were willing to give all so that we could have all.  And a special thank you to all of our Village Green military families!

July 4th help wanted.

We are still in desperate need for volunteers for our July 4th celebration. We do not have any positions filled yet.

You can sign up online at the website or by contacting Amy Nuttall [email protected].

We will have a brief volunteer meeting at the clubhouse on Thursday, May 30th at 6pm. You may also bring any donations/raffle items you have collected.

In case you missed the original post, it is listed below.

Also, if you have helped in the past, please send Amy a note letting her know what you have done and whether or not you are able to help this year.

Original Post:

Our 4th of July celebration is 50, so let’s make it fabulous!!

We need volunteers to help coordinate this year’s celebration. There is a wide variety of tasks and no help is too small. We are hoping to have enough volunteers this year so that we can have a committee chair/lead for at least the following areas (click on links for more info):

There is a lot of work and we really need as many volunteers as possible to make this day a success.

One of the tasks that everyone can help with is to begin gathering donations for the raffle prizes. These can be gift cards, services, experiences, or items. There is always a lot of excitement surrounding the raffle, and this is a great way for everyone to be a part of it.

Please sign up on the links above or if you have questions, please email Amy Nuttall with any questions: [email protected].
