As a member of the VGCA Board, I wanted to share an exciting opportunity!

An anonymous family in our beloved community would like to sponsor a family with a pool membership for the remainder of the 2024 Season. Fill out the form attached for your family’s chance to win this wonderful membership to the pool! Responses will be accepted until 11:00pm on Sunday, August 11. The winning family will be contacted Monday, August 12. Pool passes will be available for pickup to the family on Tuesday, August 13. Good luck VG!

End of Summer Party

Just like that summer is coming to a close with more fun coming your way. Please join us Saturday August 17th at the pool and park! With normal pool hours later in the day from 4pm-8pm the party will begin with food and fun. Around 7:30 we will be watching the new Garfield movie! Please rsvp for popcorn in the comments and bring a chair. Let’s end summer with a blast as we continue to make Village Green a wonderful place to live!

4th of July Events 2024

 

Wednesday, JULY 3rd

6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.:  Inaugural VGCA 4th of July Pickleball Tournament.  8 team tournament — rounds #1 and #2 will be played.  Best of 3 winners advance to each round.  We are looking for a single to round out the final team.  https://vgnn.org/july4pickle


Thursday, JULY 4th

9:00 a.m. DECORATE THE PARK: Come on out and help dress up the park for the day’s activities. Set up tables and attach festive decorations. Claim your spot on the grounds! A great way to get into the spirit and help make the park look right for the occasion.

10:00 a.m. UNCLE SAM’S BIKE PARADE: Fun for all!! Decorate your bikes and yourselves in your most patriotic colors and join in as we parade around the Green. The parade will be led by OUR local fire department, workload permitting.  Neighbors, rest on your porch and cheer us on as we pass by.  Participants gather at the clubhouse at 9:50 a.m.

10:45 a.m. NATIONAL ANTHEM: We will honor America and our flag with the playing of the National Anthem. 10:45 a.m. Village Green Swim Team Carnival: The swim team will have carnival games as well as raising money.  Tickets can be purchased with cash and help fund the swim team.  Please come out and support them.  Thank you!

12:00 p.m. PICNIC IN THE PARK: Bring your favorite foods and enjoy a picnic with your neighbors while listening to music!

12:00 p.m. POOL IS OPEN FOR VGCA REC MEMBERS AND THEIR GUESTS ONLY:  It’s never too late to support our neighborhood and become a pool member at https://vgnn.org/join.

12:00 p.m. Championship match for 4th of July Pickleball Tournament:  Come check out the work done on the pickleball courts and have fun cheering your neighbors on.

8:00 p.m. Movie in the park will be Ice Age.

Inaugural 4th of July Pickleball Tournament

We are holding our Inaugural 4th of July Pickleball Tournament.

Any experience level and adults/teens are welcome to register.

The first 8 teams to sign up with be entered.

Come out and have a good time to kickoff the 4th of July festivities!

VGCA Park and Pickleball Court Clean Up on June 15 @ 9am-12pm

Come help clean up the park and pickleball court area.  Need about 10-15 people.

Saturday, June 15  @ 9am-12pm

We will need the following:

    • Blowers, rakes, weed-eaters, two push mowers, (2) 8-10ft step ladders, and maybe an axe or two.
    • A couple of pickup trucks to hall debris from back by the pickleball courts to the City dump.

What we plan to do:

    • Remove tree limbs and debris back by the pickleball court area.
    • Cut grass in park and pickleball court area (push mowers, blower, weed-eaters).
    • Remove some bushes that are overgrown (chainsaw and axe).
    • Move any mulch that is left.
    • Blow leaves away from pickleball fence and mulch with push mower(s).
    • Weed-eat the mulch bed at front of the park.
    • Reinstall the fence section that was damaged by the tree coming down (8-10ft step ladders).

Help Save Our Pipes

 

Pool patrons and clubhouse renters you can help us with maintaining our pool and clubhouse.  One simple and easy thing to do is not to flush paper towels, feminine products and/or baby wipes down the toilet (even if they are deemed “flushable”).  There are trash cans in the each of the bathrooms, so please use those to dispose of those products.

You will now notice the extra decor (pic above) in our bathrooms as a reminder.
