Garbage, Recycling, Bulk Waste Collection Schedule Adjusted for Independence Day

On Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4, Newport News City offices and most facilities will be closed in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Residential garbage, recycling and bulk waste collection services will be affected for two weeks due to the holiday.
The normal collection schedule will be shifted two days for all services during the week of July 3, and the schedule will shift one day the week of July 10. The modified collection schedule will be in effect from Monday, July 3 through Friday, July 14. All services will return to normal on Monday, July 17. Residents can find their specific collection day by visiting the Solid Waste website or by calling 757-933-2311.
