Memorial Weekend is shaping up to be an amazing event. We are happy to announce that The Hot Box Food Truck will be coming to serve the community on Sunday, May 30th from 4-7pm! They will be setup at the park to help us celebrate the opening weekend for the pool. Please come out to help support local businesses! We are also excited to announce that Sweet Frog frozen yogurt will be able to join us for some delicious deserts as well. I am one of the volunteers for Village Green Community Association but more importantly a parent of two boys that use the park regularly. After finding the park littered with water bottles, empty bags of chips, and used napkins I had a talk with my boys. They were not the source of the trash but I asked them to model appropriate behavior for other children in the park.
I am asking all parents that have children (no matter what age) who use our park to remind them to pickup after themselves. Also have them respect the park, the equipment, and surrounding areas. Working up at the pool for many hours the past 3-4 weeks, I have seen actions by preteens and teens that indicate to me that the VGCA park and property are not being respected. The families before us have maintained VGCA property so our families can enjoy today and in the future.
I spent 10 mins of my morning picking up litter in the park. There are trash cans in the park — please have your children use those.

We will be self managing again this year, so we will have the freedom to make some of the changes to our pool season. We are looking to do the following:
Open at 11am on Saturdays.
Adult lap swim from 8-9pm during week nights.
Concession stand will be open during breaks.
Sell pre-packaged foods, snacks, and drinks.
Staffed by young volunteers.
All proceeds will go to the swim team for fundraising.
HRA will be using our pool on Tues/Thurs from 1:30-3:30pm BUT will be limited to 20 HRA swimmers per hour.
Swim team will have meets against other pools BUT they are slated to be virtual at this point which means they we only have our team swimming at our pool.
Please note: we will monitor usage of the early Saturday hours, adult lap swim, and concession stand usage and adjust accordingly as the summer progresses.
We look forward to having a successful season and we hope you will support our most important asset and become a pool member this season! Join by April 30th to get 5 free one day passes for the pool.

Summer Kick Off
/in Pool, Village Green /by VGCA Crier EditorMay 30th is going to be a blast with the DJ in the Park! DJ Hewy will be setup at the park to help us kick the summer off right (3-7pm) !
The Hot Box Food Truck will be here to fuel up from all the swimming from 4-7pm.
The Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt Truck will be there to help cool you down from 4-7pm!
Don’t forget about the two fundraisers going on! Tickets for the 50/50 Raffle will be for sale at the park from 3-7pm!
The Basket Raffle tickets will also be there. We have had some great donations so far!
