We are ten days away from our annual VGCA Adult Pool Party, on July 16, 2022 from 7pm-10pm. This year it will be an 80s themed party with karaoke!
This is a great opportunity for VGCA Adult Members to come out and meet other families! To make it easy on families, if you do not have a sitter, we will have CPR Certified sitters at the Clubhouse to watch over your kiddos…tips would be appreciated! Games and a movie will be set up for the kids! We ask that each person or couple bring a dish to share and BYOB! Hot Dogs and Hamburgers will be served!

6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. JUNIOR BIATHALON AND BIATHLON: A spirited race around VG with your family and friends. The Junior Biathlon consists of a 50m swim and a ¼ mile run around the park for children 8yrs and under. The Biathlon consists of a 250m swim and a 1.1 mile run for all ages and skill levels. 9:00 a.m. DECORATE THE PARK: Come on out and help dress up the park for the day’s activities. Set up tables and attach festive decorations. Claim your spot on the grounds! A great way to get into the spirit and help make the park look right for the occasion.
10:00 a.m. UNCLE SAM’S BIKE PARADE: Fun for all!! Decorate your bikes and yourselves in your most patriotic colors and join in as we parade around the Green. The parade will be led by OUR local fire department, workload permitting. Neighbors, rest on your porch and cheer us on as we pass by. Participants gather at the clubhouse at 9:50 a.m.
10:45 a.m. NATIONAL ANTHEM: We will honor America and our flag with the playing of the National Anthem.
10:45 a.m. Village Green Swim Team Carnival: The swim team will have carnival games as well as raising money. Tickets can be purchased with cash and help fund the swim team. Please come out and support them. Thank you!
12:00 p.m. PICNIC IN THE PARK: Bring your favorite foods and enjoy a picnic with your neighbors while listening to music!

To support the biathlon events on Sunday, July 3 we will need to close the pool from 530pm until about 7pm. Once the last swimmer is out of the pool from the 630pm start time of the main biathlon event we will remove the lane ropes and re-open the pool.
Come on out at 6pm and cheer the contestants on (many of which are our Village Green youth)!

There are some positions that are open currently that really could use some volunteers. Primarily we are in need of someone to fill the role of Secretary. It would also be very helpful if we had a new Communications lead as well. As much as I have enjoyed watching our neighborhood improve in so many ways, work is taking me elsewhere for a little bit and the community would be better served by another volunteer. If you can commit a few hours a week at most to helping, please reach out to [email protected] and let them know. As always, we are also looking for volunteers to help with the landscaping and pool maintenance as well. I will be seeing you around the neighborhood.
