VG Swim Team Run/Walk Event
The VG swim team is having a run/walk event to raise money!
Event details
Date: Saturday, December 6
Adult run: 5k (2 trips around the neighborhood with the Minuteman/Crown Pointe Loop) – 9:30 am
Kid run: 1 mile (single lap around the main VG loop) – 10:30 am
We will be done in time for families to head to the park for the Meet the Grinch event! Spend your morning with neighbors as we head into the holiday season!
Registration is open to all VG neighbors as well as anyone else who wants to join!
Cost – $20 per adult, $15 per kid (age 12 and under) – Registration includes a shirt – $15 for an additional shirt

Swim Team Registration is OPEN! Being a part of the Patriots helps our VG kids and teens stay physically active, socialize and make new friends, and work towards goals while they learn new skills during the summer. Practices begin May 21 for our older swimmers with experience and Tues May 27th for everyone!
Join us for a Swim Team Parent Meeting on Monday, May 12th at 7:00 PM in the clubhouse. New families are welcome! Our team is developmental and no experience is necessary to join and have fun this summer! 💚

The first Village Green Swim Meet is Sunday, June 12 (9am)
Our first swim meet with be this Sunday, June 12 at 9am. We will be hosting Windsor Great Park — another Newport News swim team. We usually hold the meets on a Monday evening, but due to NNPS getting out a week later than York County and James City County schools we have had to shift out schedule to Sunday morning for the first meet.
Come on out and support our swimmers!
Concessions was a success — thank you!!!
We had quite a few volunteers staff the VGCA Concessions Stand this summer during pool hours. Thank you to all those young workers (ranging in age from 6-14) that helped make it a success!
Their goal was to raise money for our own water cannon to help keep the pool cool during July/August — approximately $200. In total, they raised $668.05 — $200 of it went to purchase the pump and wiring for the VGCA Water Cannon. The remaining $468.05 will be donated to the VG Swim Team which most of the volunteers swim for.
Keep this in mind for your young volunteers for next season as I am sure we will be looking for volunteers and a parent or two to help organize and oversee it.
Thank you to everyone that purchased from these young volunteers and a SPECIAL BIG THANK YOU to those young VGCA volunteers that staffed it. What a great year for our youth and the pool!

As announced during tonight’s swim meet, we are having a fundraiser for the swim team AND also have a great way to support your swimmer. So, parents and grandparents be sure to grab your VG Patriots T-shirts by filling out this form and placing your order. If you place your orders by noon on Wednesday, June 30 we should be able to have them made and ready for you at the next swim meet on July 5.
