Village Green Community Yard Sale will be on May 11th

It looks like May 11th was the winner for the yard sale date, so let’s go ahead and plan for that! I will place notices on local sites and put up some signs.

Please note: all residents will need a permit from the city. They cost $5 (personal or cashier’s check, NO CASH) and require proof of Newport News residency like a government-issued ID with address or a utility bill. Information about where to mail or deliver your application, as well as links to print the application, can be found at the included link. If anyone needs help printing an application, let me know and I can drop one off to you. https://www.nngov.com/639/Garage-Rummage-Sale-Permit-Applications

Pool filters get a make-over for 2019!

When swimming in our crystal clear pool later this summer its because of to the time/effort put in by Justin Gradwell and Connor Woodruff. They assisted in getting them cleaned out this weekend. Tell them thanks when you see them this Spring/Summer!

We have to remove 900lbs of sand from each filter, replace 8 laterals per filter, and replace O-rings and gaskets on them as well. This will ensure that our filtration system is running optimally. This is done every 4-7 years and is the first time it’s been done on my watch. (Thanks to those who have maintained it in the past…definitely not an easy task.)

VGCA Clubhouse Spring cleaning was a success…look for yourself.

Thanks to the Woodruffs and the Wilsons for helping out. Their children and another from the neighborhood had fun cleaning out and organizing the storage area in the clubhouse. It looks the best it has in several years. THANK YOU!

Thank you for supporting the VG Swim Team!

The Village Green Swim Team sold nearly 100 boxes of donuts this past Saturday and Sunday. (They might have eaten a few too.) With your help, they proudly and enthusiastically raised nearly $400 which will be used to buy the team VG swim caps and VG drawstring bags.

The team is looking forward to a great season. If you know a child (4-18 yrs old) who wants to swim send them to https://vgnn.org/swim for additional info.

THANK YOU for your support this past weekend!
