VGCA Membership Drive Continues

Membership flyers are making their way into mailboxes and doors during the month of March. Please join your neighbors and friends to support the upkeep and maintenance of all of our commonly held properties. Last year, the non-negotiable costs to maintain the community (not including the pool) such as insurance, utilities, trash service, website, and gas and upkeep of mowers, totaled more than $8000. Membership in the VGCA, at $75 per year amounts to @ .20/per day. The cost of membership has remained at the same low price for more than 20 years.

You may join by filling out the green membership form and returning it to 625 Brandywine Drive or you may pay via Paypal (fees apply) at vgnn.org/join. If you have membership-related questions, please email [email protected].

VGCA Membership Drive Is Under Way

The Village Green Community Association membership drive is under way – be sure to join in our summer fun this year by joining the neighborhood Association and Pool! Pool memberships will remain at the same low rates they have been for years. The pool has always been the heart of the neighborhood, especially for our children, and this summer will be no different. The swim team will be hitting the water in June, and the snack bar which is managed by our VG youth will be new and improved. Depending on interest, we may have evening lap swims for adults and extended Monday hours. It’s a great place to read a book, cool off, and while away a summer afternoon meeting new friends and neighbors.

Membership flyers will be making their way into mailboxes and door during the next 4 – 6 weeks. You may fill out the flyer and return it to the green mailbox at 625 Brandywine, or you can link to the online membership form and pay via Paypal (fees apply). If you have membership-related questions, please email [email protected]

2022 VGCA Membership Drive has begun

The Village Green Community Association will begin its annual membership drive during the month of March. Membership in the VGCA has remained at the same low rate of just $75, @ $6 per month, but that $6 per month goes towards paying for the many expenses our neighborhood cannot avoid: liability insurance, utilities, upkeep and maintenance of the buildings and common areas, gas for the mowers (otherwise powered by a team of volunteers), and dozens of other incidental expenses involved in keeping the community in good working order.

Membership flyers will be making their way into mailboxes and doors during the next 4 – 6 weeks. You may fill out the flyer and return it to the green mailbox at 625 Brandywine, or you can link to the online membership form and pay via Paypal (fees apply). If you have membership related questions, please email [email protected]

Please go to https://vgnn.org/join for additional info and/or to pay online.

VGCA Pool info for the upcoming 2022 season

VGCA Pool Members:

A few things to consider for the upcoming season:

  • The hours will be very similar to last year.
    • Tuesday-Friday and Sunday 1pm-8pm
    • Saturday 11am-6pm
    • Monday — potentially (see next bullet point)
  • We will look to open on Mondays similar to last year if we hit membership goals listed below.
    • 90 VGCA Rec/Pool memberships and we will open on Mondays thru July 18.
    • 100 VGCA Rec/Pool memberships and we will open on Mondays for the entire season.
  • We will look to offer an adult lap swim 8-9pm during the summer.
  • Concessions will be improved from last year.
  • Pool rules will stay the same.
  • We will have an Out of School Pool Party.
  • HRA and CGBD plan to use our pool again this year.
    • We plan to receive revenue from rental agreements with Hampton Roads Academy (HRA) and the Coast Guard Blue Dolphins (CGBD) Swim Team.  This helps us keep the pool running and in great shape.
    • HRA campers will use the pool during open swim Tues/Thurs 130-330pm during the summer.
    • CGBD will use the pool Mon-Fri 5am-9am — the pool is closed to all other swimmers at this time.

The membership drive will be right around the corner…keep an eye out for additional information.

Thank you!

Pool Volunteer Needed

As VGCA continues to self-manage the pool, we are looking for an extra volunteer.  Specifically, I am looking for an adult that can help me with the following:

  • provide guidance and support to lifeguards.
  • answer questions for new and potential members.
  • help monitor pool chemicals and the pumps (very easy to do).

It is a great opportunity to give back to the neighborhood especially for an adult who is up at the pool on a regular basis.  There is very little effort involved but it would help me out during the week when I am working.

Email me at [email protected]

Thank you in advance!

Santa needs lifeguards….

Santa is going to be busy the next couple of weeks…but keep in mind he will need lifeguards to staff our Village Green Community Association pool this upcoming season.  It’s never too early to get certified or to get your name on our candidate list.

If you are interested in being a lifeguard at our pool, please send Donnie a txt (757-768-9326) or email [email protected].

Lifeguards will need to be at least 15 yrs old and certified.  Please check with the YMCA, Riverside Fitness Center, and/or the Red Cross for classes during the Winter/Spring.

Playset Work In Progress 11/11/21

PLAYSET PROGRESS TOMORROW: We are going to try to make progress on the new playset with the planned good weather and federal holiday. To reach the next phase, we need some extra hands in the morning (around 9-930a) to move the two structures into the new location in the park.  Once moved, we can continue with assembly as long as the weather let’s us tomorrow. Comment below or message Ryan Greene ([email protected]) if you are able to help with the move or the assembly.
