HRA pool usage

We have made changes to our agreement with HRA on their pool usage for the remaining part of this year beginning on June 4 and ending on July 30.

  • Mondays — HRA will have exclusive access to the pool from 1:30pm-330pm.  Pool is closed to all other swimmers.
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays  — VGCA members and HRA share the pool from 1:30-330pm.  HRA should bring about 20 swimmers with them.  Lifeguards will monitor and report to the pool manager on the number of HRA swimmers.

The funds made from this agreement help pay for the operation of the pool.

Lifeguards needed for Village Green pool

We are looking to start pay at $13.50/hr for entry level certified lifeguards and $14.50+/hr for more experienced lifeguards.   We will have a limited number of lifeguard spots available this year, so please get your application in as soon as possible (even if you are not certified yet).

Volunteers for the pool covering

Looking for volunteers to come out and help cover the pool. Many hands makes for light work. Typically takes 10-20 minutes.

Scheduled for 20 October @ 1800 so be there early because you know Donnie will be.

VGCA Spring Clean Up Sat, Mar 15 230-5pm

When: 

  • Saturday, March 15
  • 230pm-5pm

What:

  • Put pool cover back on the pool (need about 10-15 able-bodied people).
  • Clean up the pool deck rake and bag leaves.
  • Blow leaves away from pool fence.
  • Tarp leaves that are piled up on pickleball court and move them out to the common area and spread.
  • Spread mulch in front flower beds.

Items needed:

  • Rakes, shovels, and wheelbarrows for moving/spreading mulch.
  • Gloves and long pants due to tall brush.

This is a great opportunity for the high school students to get service hours.

VGCA Pool info for 2024 season

A few things to consider for the VGCA Pool Season:

  • The hours will be very similar to last year.
    • Tuesday-Friday and Sunday 1pm-8pm starting Jun 14
    • Saturday 11am-8pm
    • Monday — potentially (see next bullet point)
  • We will look to open on Mondays similar to last year if we hit membership goals listed below.
    • 90 VGCA Rec/Pool memberships and we will open on Mondays thru July 18.
    • 100 VGCA Rec/Pool memberships and we will open on Mondays for the entire season.
  • Concessions will be staffed during breaks when our volunteers are available.  Cash and credit card accepted.
  • Pool rules will stay the same.
  • We will have a Summer Pool Party scheduled for ALL Village Green neighbors and guests.  Summer Pool Party – Village Green: An Oyster Point Community (vgnn.org)
  • HRA campers will use/share the pool during our open swim Tues/Thurs 130-330pm beginning June 6.
